My second newly assigned vegetable garden.
I had an orange tree here that had never done a thing, so it was time to allow this area to be fruitful. Here I planted Bloomsdale Long Standing spinach, Red Detroit beets and Red Cored Chantelay carrots, two rows each from seed on Aug 18. Water seeds twice daily! This plot is 3.5′ x 4.5′. It receives less sun (4-5 hours) than my first main plot ( 7 hours), so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it still does well.
These beet seedling emerged just 6 days after sowing. I think I let out a happy gasp when I first spotted them on my evening veggie stroll. So rewarding!
